Overview

In an emergency, knowing what to do is a life skill - but for a young child, even finding the right words can feel enormous. Little Life Learners turns that frightening unknown into calm, repeatable practice. In a bright, age-appropriate simulation, children learn that Triple Zero (000) is for serious, urgent situations where police, fire or ambulance help is needed. Every experience is clearly marked as practice and never contacts real emergency services.

The learning journey begins before a number is dialled. Children practise noticing when something may be an emergency, moving to a safe place, finding a trusted adult when one is available, and understanding that 000 must never be used for games or ordinary problems. Simple stories help them distinguish an urgent threat to life or safety from situations where a grown-up, teacher or other trusted person can help.

Guided call scenarios then teach the essential sequence: dial 000; listen for the operator; ask for Police, Fire or Ambulance; say their name; explain what has happened in a few clear words; give the address, location or a useful landmark; answer questions as best they can; and stay on the line until the operator says it is safe to hang up. Children are reassured that it is okay not to know every answer, that the operator will guide them, and that speaking slowly and listening carefully are more important than getting every word perfect.

Practice adapts to the learner. Younger children can follow large visual prompts, repeated phrases and caregiver-led rehearsal, while older children build confidence through varied scenarios, recall activities and gentle reflection. Encouragement focuses on calm decision-making, clear communication and asking for the right kind of help - never on speed, fear or dramatic scoring.

Caregivers and educators remain in control. Adult-owned profiles, accessibility settings, progress insights and configurable practice flows make it possible to revisit difficult steps without pressure. The result is not a promise that a child will manage every emergency alone; it is something more responsible and useful: familiar language, a rehearsed sequence and the confidence to reach real help when every second matters.
